Stories of Love, Lust, and Land. Join Tree Whisper and Change Maker Andy Lipkis, and Sacred Storyteller Leah Lamb for an unexpected evening of true and mythic stories about the land that changes us and that love that motivates us.
Andy Lipkis is a practical visionary who has dedicated his life to healing the environment while improving the lives of individuals and communities. He founded TreePeople in Los Angeles in 1973 at age 18 and continues to serve as its President. Andy has spearheaded an approach using trees and forest-inspired technologies to make cities sustainable while mitigating floods, drought, pollution, and global warming. This approach is being demonstrated in L.A. as a model for cities everywhere.
Leah Lamb is a unpractical storyteller who has dedicated her life to creating spaces and mythic stories that allow for reconnection to the natural world, story, and self. She founded Speak The Spark, School for Sacred Storytelling and Storytelling Ceremonies, (a process designed to alchemize and integrate the teachings within a story) which have toured in LA, San Francisco, and NYC. Her mystical storytelling, known as Soul Stories, provides people an opportunity to explore their archetypal structure and examine their lives through the metaphors and symbols that present in their consciousness.
“Leah lives in story, it resonates in her being –as a teller, as a writer/thinker, as an activist/world changer,as a contemporary artist rooted in the ancient. She knows the alchemy of myth, and the miracle of life, and the tangible magic of language performed.”
